Role
We are looking to expand our team of invigilators for the January 2026 exam period which runs Monday 5th – Friday 23rd January. 

 
Please state the dates that you are available in your Cover Letter. The number of shifts available during the period cannot be guaranteed.
 
This role is with the central Exams Office where City St George’s three main examination periods are run annually. There is an opportunity to continue work in future examination periods based on performance 
Please note, successful candidates will need to be available for a short 10-minute interview on Tuesday 25th November via Teams and for in-person training 1.30pm-3.30pm on Tuesday 9th December. Training will be two hours and paid at the role rate.

Duties and responsibilities
Examination Invigilators are essential to ensure the fair and proper conduct of examinations in an environment that enables exam candidates to perform at their best. 

 
Duties include:
- Setting up the examination venue
- Applying exam procedures
- Supporting and supervising candidates
- Collection and delivery of exam scripts for marking

Skills and experience
- Ability to follow pre-defined processes and apply them consistently 

- Ability to follow the instruction of the Head Invigilator
- Ability to handle difficult situations with support from the Head Invigilator
-Accuracy and attention to detail
- Professional attitude
- Reliability
- Flexibility
- Previous Invigilator experience desirable
 
Due to the nature of this role, this position is not suitable for current City St George’s Undergraduate or City St George’s Masters Students. However, PhD students, staff and those external to City St George’s are welcome to apply.
