Description
Role
Exam Operations, based in Registry and Academic Affairs is seeking reliable and conscientious individuals to undertake a wide range of invigilation duties during our main examination periods. These take place annually mid-January, May/June and August. We are looking for individuals who can step into the role of an invigilator and uphold high standards and provide an excellent examination service to our students. Mandatory training will be provided.
Start Date: 31/10/25
End Date: 30/09/26
Working Hours: Shifts to be offered and accepted by the worker, mixed hours available.
Pay Rate: £15.78 per hour
Holiday Pay Rate: £1.90 per hour
Location: University of Nottingham Campuses
Dress Code: Smart
Duties and responsibilities
- Collecting examination papers from the Exams Office
- Preparing examination rooms
- Ensuring exam durations are upheld (time keeping)
- Actively patrolling during exams
- Dealing with problems/queries during the examination by following guidelines set out by the University
- Helping students where appropriate
- Collection of examination scripts at the end of the examination
- Returning examination scripts to the Exams Office
Skills and experience
- Applicants must be postgraduate research students registered at the University of Nottingham or be from outside the University. Undergraduate and postgraduate taught students need not apply
- Excellent command of English
- Confident computer user (web-based applications & Microsoft Word)
- High degree of personal initiative and responsibility
- Reliable and dependable
- Proven ability to follow procedures and processes
- Demonstrates a sensitive approach to individual students
- Good timekeeping
