Description
Role
The Optometry department have an opening for Clinical Skill Support for 3 months.
Duties and responsibilities
• Effectively work with the Laboratory Technician to ensure that all equipment and clinical skills rooms provide a high quality learning environment for clinical skills teaching
• Ensure that all clinical skills rooms are set up and taken down appropriately for clinical skills sessions
• To provide support to teaching staff in troubleshooting with issues
• Correctly dispose of clinical waste and maintain health and safety.
• To assist in operating the emergency evacuation procedure in case of emergency
Skills and experience
• Good understanding in working within an organisation
• Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills
• A calm and patient manner, coupled with flexibility and the desire to work as part of a team are essential.
• A willingness to help others and ensure students are treated in a friendly, professional manner at all times
• Ability to prioritise a varied workload and work to deadlines.
• High level of interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral, using a ‘customer-centred’ approach.
• Ability to maintain systems for storage, stock levels, health and safety.
