About the role:

Darvick is offering a 12-week paid internship as part of the WMG Internship Programme in collaboration with Made Smarte. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in reviewing and improving our business processes, with a focus on how digital tools particularly SharePoint can streamline operations.

Based at our site in Brierley Hill, you will gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing and testing environment, working closely with both the Darvick team and a dedicated Made Smarter digital technology expert. You’ll receive weekly supervision, guidance, and access to resources to help you succeed.

Through this Internship you will have the chance to

  • Practical insights into business process management and digital transformation
  • Experience applying business process improvement methodologies in a real-world setting
  • Skills in developing SharePoint integrations and digital tools to enhance efficiency

 

About the company:

Darvick offers sub-contract testing services. They specify, design and deliver non-standard, complex or extreme testing requirements to provide customers vital data for making key product and business decisions. Their service includes the specification, design and manufacture of jigs, fixtures and controls to apply the right testing forces and conditions to products and materials.

Duties and responsibilities

Main activities will include:

  • Analyse current operations and produce process maps, particularly those that rely on paper or manual methods.
  • Research and evaluate digital tools and methods to streamline these processes by categorising and migrate representative project files.
  • Implement chosen digital solutions, with a strong focus on SharePoint and build dashboard prototype for resource allocations.
  • Create training materials and user guides to support adoption of new processes.

Skills and experience

ESSENTIAL:

  • Educated to master’s degree level.
  • Proficiency in digital tools related to the objective, particularly SharePoint and dashboard development.
  • Attention to detail, teamwork and adaptable problem-solving.
  • Strong team player with a proactive, adaptable attitude, comfortable working closely with colleagues and contributing to a supportive team environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating sound judgment when interacting with others; highly communicative and able to integrate well within teams.
  • Comfortable to work on-site.
