THE ROLE 

On behalf of our Leicester Client, we are looking to recruit a full time Applications Engineer. We are looking for a candidate who is a mechanically biased Engineer; qualified to minimum HNC level, or equivalent industry experience. 

We are also looking for a candidate who has excellent IT Literacy and experience of AutoCAD or SolidWorks. This is advantageous, but not essential.

You will be expected to work 40 hours per week. 

The working hours are Monday to Friday 08:30am - 17:00pm (30 minute unpaid lunch).

Expected start date: ASAP

Expected end date: The role will be temporary for 12 weeks minimum and then the client will review the role and consider a permanent placement. 

Rate of pay: £12.98 

Holiday Pay: £1.57

Duties and responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and product recommendations to our OEM customers. 
  • Answer customer enquiries, prepare quotations and Technical information. 
  • Ensure all enquiries are dealt with promptly, efficiently and with an emphasis on customer service and attention to detail.
  • Work with their suppliers & partners to develop new products.
  • Prepare engineering drawings using AutoCAD & Solidworks.se vibration engineering software & FFT vibration measurements.

Skills and experience

  • A Mechanically biased engineer qualified to minimum HNC level, or equivalent industry experience.
  • IT Literate - they use a range of digital tooling to manage our business systems, such as Sage 50 and bespoke software for engineering calculations.
  • Experience of AutoCAD or Solidworks advantageous, but not essential
  • Excellent Communication and Customer Service Skills
  • Become part of their established engineering team working closely with their internal applications engineers & their field technical sales staff.
