Description

Role

To provide core building support to students for out of hours work in Architecture and Built Environment. This includes security, building faults, Health and safety along with any further arising issues.

 

Start Date: As soon as possible, work is ongoing

End Date: 27/06/26

Working Hours: Shift work, 6pm-10pm weekdays and 9am-9pm weekends shared across 2 positions

Pay Rate: £13.30 per hour

Holiday Pay Rate: £1.61 per hour

Location: UoN Architecture and Built Environment

Dress Code: Smart casual

Duties and responsibilities

  • Provide supervisory support to the EEC studios, Z-Block studios, SRB, Paton House, Marmont and Lenton Firs studios.•
  • Security of building(s). Locking/unlocking procedures. Responding to alarm activations.
  • Setting up and maintaining teaching rooms to de-fault layout.
  • Reporting of building faults to the correct authority in a timely manner.
  • Have authority to deal with incidents as required, with aid of Security, if necessary
  • Clear all studios in the 6 listed buildings starting 15 minutes before closing time and ensure doors are locked at time and date to be confirmed.
  • Any other duties appropriate to the role and grade of the post holder.

Skills and experience

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to organise and plan tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated.
