The Role

The post-holder will be expected to undertake work towards the implementation of the International Recruitment Strategy by being trained in all of the below, and specialising in one of two of them :- Conducting pre-CAS checks on high-risk applicants, including completing credibility interviews, and assessing bank statements.- Processing payments to all DMU International partners as directed and in line with policy- Liaison with key contacts at embassies and sponsor bodies regarding the progress of particular international students- Marketing and recruitment projects as directed- Conducting health and safety checks on overseas trips.

The role is hybrid with 2 days on campus. One of those days being a Thursday.

37 hours will be worked each week for the duration of the appointment - the role as a current end date of 01/05/26

Duties and responsibilities
1.The post-holder will be expected to positively engage with colleagues across the university, in particular in Registry (Immigration and Compliance), to effectively conduct pre-CAS checks.

 
2. The post-holder will be required to work to a service level agreement in order to assess an applicant’s suitability from a UKVI pre-arrival compliance perspective. This will involve conducting Credibility Interviews, assessing viability of financial statements, and collating documents to mark appropriate applicants as “CAS-ready”.
 
3. The post-holder will play an important part in the university’s relationships with external partners. This will be done by providing anexcellent customer service throughout a payment process, and contract issuance process.
 
4. Support the due diligence activity carried out on agents and partners, by analysing and considering agent management information.
 
5. The post-holder will be required to serve as a contact point for embassies, relating to the progress of international students within the university. This will require completing necessary process updates for the embassy-sponsored student population.
 
6. The post-holder will be required to be trained on the Student Record System to adjust records, or allocate scholarships as necessary.
 
7. The post-holder will be required to make updates to the university website, as updated by senior colleagues.
 
8. Support the creation of CRM campaigns to support international recruitment activities as required.9. Assist in the logistical planning, coordination and delivery of UK-based events hosted by the International Office.
 
10. The post-holder will be required to train colleagues, or external contractors, on the service provided by the function and support them accordingly.
 
11. The post-holder will work with colleagues in recruitment, and externally, to train stakeholders on the processes they work on to ensure efficient performance for the university in these spaces.
 
12. Working with colleagues across the university to ensure that travel policies are carried out and colleagues are appropriately informed of their obligations.
 
13. Service appropriate international meetings, including those with University Leadership Board members present.14. Support on international registration.
 
15. Issuance of contracts to partners, including a wide agent-network.

Skills and experience

  • Experience in making payments in line with process- Process invoices on SAP for reimbursements, freight invoices,
  • Experience of working in an administrative capacity
  • Ability to prioritise work, without direction and ensuring quality is not compromised
  • A track record of developing operational processes with both external and internal stakeholders
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge and understanding of challenges facing international education and universities
  • A well-developed international perspective, through previous experience of international travel, or working in a role with an international dimension, or in a culturally diverse environment
  • Experience identifying areas where performance can be improved and implementing plans to instigate such changes
  • Experience working in a GDPR aware environment
  • Ability to keep accurate notes in an live environment, for minuting, and for assessment of credibility interviews.
  • Experience in building positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Strong empathy, and customer service skills
  • Diplomacy and political awareness and the ability to deal with issues sensitively and confidentiality
  • Demonstrable commitment to promoting equality and diversity and to widening participation
