Role
This role is only applicable for current Middlesex University student.
We are seeking a detail-oriented student to support the University’s ongoing Space Audit Project. The role involves collecting and recording data on teaching and office spaces across campus and associated sites, ensuring accurate information for planning, reporting, and space management.
Duties and responsibilities
- Visit each designated room and record:
- Dimensions of space (height/width)
- Room capacity (including number of chairs)
- Space number and description (e.g., classroom, open-plan office)
- Department managing the specified space
- Staff located in the space
- General notes (e.g., room number changes, appearance, useful comments)
- Capture a photograph of each room.
- Assess and record the condition of each room, covering:
- Space planning
- Visual characteristics
- Wall, floor, ceiling finishes
- Doors and furniture (desks, chairs, tables)
- Lighting
- Confirm whether appropriate room signage is in place.
- Support technical updates by updating the firmware on Bluetooth beacons installed in rooms used for attendance monitoring.
Skills and experience
- Current Middlesex University student.
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy when recording data.
- Confident using mobile devices, apps, and basic IT systems.
- Comfortable moving between sites and working in different types of spaces.
- Good communication skills for interacting with staff where required.
Location
Primarily on Hendon campus (with work at two additional sites as required – Beaufort Park and StoneX West Stand)
