Description

Role
Due to continued expansion, we are now looking for a Laboratory Technician to work on a Temp to Perm basis at their location near Crewe. You will be joining the team to provide testing, quality assurance and quality control on products for their customer base.

We are looking for someone to start asap and this role is based in Sandbach.

Duties and responsibilities
Working in the team, you will be ensuring compliance with in house and EU regulations whilst working with the products.

Key duties will be 
  • Preparation of samples for analysis whilst following operating procedures
  • Carrying out sample receipt and result entry using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). 
  • Logging of work carried out whilst in the lab.
  • Ensuring that quality control actions are completed in line with operating standards.
You will be working on animal feed and cereal products.

Skills and experience
We are looking for someone with a degree in Chemistry or Biological Sciences.

You will also have knowledge of Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS) and will be able to use LIMS software.
A high level of attention detail and the ability to work independently will be key for the role.
 
If you are inquisitive, like to troubleshoot and good at keeping records, this could be the role for you.
 
Desirable skills include knowledge of ELISA testing, Microbiology tests or working to ISO 17025 or similar

Additional information
We are looking for someone to join the business ahead of a move to a new central Crewe location (exact timescales tbc).

The successful candidate will be joining on a 16 week temp to perm basis (subject to a satisfactory temporary period).
