Role

As a Customer Service Administration Officer you will have the responsibility to provide professional and exceptional customer service to all students and staff plus other visitors throughout the period stated, at our Community Safety Hub.

Primary role will be issuing on campus students room fobs and dealing with walk in enquiries at the hub. The officer will also escalate any issues to the on-duty Community Safety Team.

The role is to provide support during Term Time only:

Term 1: Thursday 24th September 2026 – Saturday 12th December 2027

Term 2: Saturday 9th January 2027 – Saturday 20th March 2027

Term 3: Saturday 24th April 2027 – Saturday 3rd July 2027.

Working hours are as follows:

Mon-Fri – 8pm – 1am

Weekends 6pm-1am

Part of a friendly team in a fast-moving, professional department, you’ll draw on a range of IT, communication, and customer service skills whilst carrying out your role. 

Duties and responsibilities
You will be involved in dealing with visitor enquiries at the hub with your primary role being issuing on campus student room fobs, whilst providing a friendly font of house service for Community Safety.  You will be expected to deliver a high standard of customer service and maintain customer confidentiality.  Training will be provided.

Skills and experience

Applicants need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and databases
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a high volume of enquiries.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to provide excellent customer service whilst remaining empathetic and sensitive.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • High attention to detail
