Role
As a ThinkHigher Student Ambassador, you will support the delivery of events, workshops, and activities in schools, colleges, and on campus. The role involves engaging with young people to raise aspirations, share your student experience, and provide a positive insight into higher education. Ambassadors act as role models, helping learners to build confidence, explore opportunities, and feel motivated about their future pathways. Please be aware that this role will require you to undertake a DBS check.
- Training – 3.5 hours October 2025
- Flexible hours. Work will be offered as and when events and activities are scheduled, which will include weekdays in term time and a few evening events.
- All day events will run between the hours 9am-6pm.
- The few evening events we run will finish no later than 8pm.
Duties and responsibilities
- Support the delivery of ThinkHigher events, workshops, and activities in schools, colleges, and on campus
- Act as a positive role model, sharing your experiences of university life and study
- Engage and interact with young people to inspire confidence and raise aspirations
- Provide practical support at events, including registration, set-up, and supervision of activities
- Encourage participation and create an inclusive, welcoming environment for all learners
- Always Represent ThinkHigher in a professional and enthusiastic manner
- Assist with the evaluation of activities by gathering feedback from participants
- Work collaboratively with fellow Ambassadors and ThinkHigher staff to ensure the smooth running of events.
Skills and experience
Essential:
- Currently enrolled as a student at the University of Warwick
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with young people
- Reliable, professional, and able to represent ThinkHigher positively
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to support a variety of activities and events
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Must have the right to work in the UK
- No formal qualifications are required beyond university enrolment; full training will be provided
Desirable
- Previous experience working with young people (e.g., mentoring, tutoring, outreach, volunteering, or coaching)
- Experience supporting or helping to run events or activities
- An interest in widening access to higher education and supporting learners from diverse backgrounds
- Organisational skills and the ability to take initiative when required.
