Description
Role
To provide excellent customer service, ensure the bakery department runs smoothly, and deliver fresh, high-quality products for customers. The role involves preparing, baking, merchandising, and maintaining the highest food safety standards.
Duties and responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a range of bakery products following company guidelines.
- Maintain consistent quality and presentation of products on the bakery shelves.
- Provide friendly, helpful service to customers, answering queries and supporting with purchases.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times.
- Keep the bakery area clean, tidy, and well-stocked.
- Date-check and rotate stock to reduce waste.
- Support with deliveries, stock replenishment, and general retail duties when required.
- Work flexibly as part of a team to meet business needs, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Skills and experience
- No formal qualifications required; full training will be provided.
- Must be 18+ to operate bakery ovens and handle certain food preparation tasks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow set processes.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic numeracy and literacy for handling stock, labelling, and till use.
