Role
*Ringfenced to Level 5 & 6 LJMU students only*

 
The Start-up Hub is offering students the chance to apply for a three-day paid consultancy to work in teams and solve a real-world issue presented by a local third-sector organisation, founded by an LJMU Graduate. Students will be presented with a challenge on Day One and will work in teams to develop a meaningful and innovative solution to present back to the organisation at the end of Day Three. This exciting opportunity will enable students to develop & utilise entrepreneurial skills  to assist in the presentation of solutions and recommendations for the organisation. Taking part will also look great on students' CVs and demonstrate they are able to work as part of a team to solve a real-world problem.

Duties and responsibilities

The successful candidates should be dynamic and creative team-players. They will work in a small team of other students to solve a real-world issue presented by a local third-sector organisation, founded by an LJMU Graduate.

Students will be required to give a group presentation at the end of Day 3 showing their results and offering a solution to the challenge that was set on Day One.  

Skills and experience
Excellent problem-solving and creative skills with the ability to resolve problems in a logical and practical manner.

Ability to undertake research and analysis.
Ability to build and establish good working relationships with others. 
This will include fellow students, external and internal stakeholders.
Good communication skills; verbal, written and presentations. 
Ability to work flexibly and, at times under pressure to meet deadlines and changing priorities.
