Description
Role
Our prestigious client have a new vacancy for a Group Sustainability Advisor. This role will be responsible for helping to deliver their Sustainability Roadmap commitments by measuring and reporting environmental, social and governance data, co-ordinating sustainability audits, understanding evolving reporting standards, and managing reporting disclosures for multiple stakeholder groups.
Working days and hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm.
This position is a 12 month fixed term contract/ secondment.
Duties and responsibilities
- Lead on all ESG data measurements to feed into internal dashboards, sustainability committee reports, external reporting and decision-making processes;
- Carry out a wide range of compliance monitoring activities and provide basic advice on compliance and regulatory requirements;
- Prepare content for the Annual Sustainability Report in line with international sustainability reporting standards (ESRS, GRI, IFRS), including the compilation of case studies, progress updates and data disclosure;
- Co-ordinate the completion of ESG surveys, including EcoVadis sustainability assessment, customer surveys, industry data platforms and where relevant, international disclosure reporting, e.g., UNGC.
- Co-ordinate the annual Scope 3 Corporate Carbon inventory across all Cedo entities, including data collection, calculation, presentation and report to internal stakeholders.
- Co-ordinate with each commercial entity the data collection and calculation of Product Carbon Footprints in accordance with GHG Protocol and International Standards.
- Support the companies climate transitional plan to deliver SBTi near-term carbon reduction targets.
- Monitor and analyse the companies sustainability performance against its industry peers to identify best practice and opportunities to strengthen the companies competitive advantage.
- Collaborate with the Group Communications and Commercial Teams to support with customer communications and presentations related to Cedo’s sustainability roadmap.
Skills and experience
- A proven track record of effective data-based collection, trend analysis & drawing conclusions and making recommendations based on analysis – requiring attention to detail.
- Advanced level knowledge of database reporting e.g., Power BIExcellent problem-solving skills and initiative
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, across multiple media and audiences – ability to present complex information in an engaging and simple way.
- Strong passion for sustainability issues and ‘engaging hearts and minds’ on ESG issues.
- Excellent planning and prioritisation, with ability to skilfully use cross functional resources
- Excellent numerical skills and application of numerical concepts e.g. PCF calculations.
- Good business English skills, both written and spoken
- A relevant sustainability/ESG qualification or experience of working in similar roles with good working knowledge of ESG topics, e.g., SBTi is desirable for this role, as are experience of FMCG or plastics manufacturing, and good technical knowledge of relevant ERP systems, sustainability and IT software, tools and techniques.
