Role

The Student Funding Outreach team are based within Student Funding Support and our main role is to deliver information, advice, and guidance about funding university study to current and prospective students, their parents/carers and staff. We do this through delivering workshops and presentations at local schools and colleges, attending Open Days and recruitment events, and on our website and social media channels.

At our events and through our work we like to offer students’ perspectives of managing money at university. We are looking to recruit one current undergraduate Warwick student to work within the Student Funding Outreach Team for the 2025-26 academic year. If you are a first or second year student this role may potentially continue into the 2026-27 academic year.

You will assist with outreach events when required and provide support at both on-campus and external school events. The type of work may include supporting the preparation of events for the Student Funding Advisers, supporting the Student Funding Advisers with the creation of content for the Student Funding Support website, social media channels, and MyWarwick Newsletter articles. This year we have launched a Student Cookbook so part of the role will include contributing to this by reviewing and writing up recipes.

Please note, that due to the nature of the role we are only looking for applicants who will be registered as an undergraduate student in the 2025-26 academic year. If you are due to finish your course before then, please do not apply.

Duties and responsibilities

1. To support the Student Funding Advisers at events as and when required such as school workshops, National Student Money Week, University Open Days, Visit Days and Welcome Week.

2. To assist the Student Funding Advisers with managing the Student Funding social media accounts and website.

3. To research and write content for the weekly MyWarwick student funding-related articles.

4. To research, review and write content for the Student Cookbook.

5. To adhere to Consumer Protection Law and General Data Protection

Skills and experience

1. Good level of general education including GCSE Maths and English Language at grade C or above (or equivalent qualifications).

2. Experience of using Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams.

3. Meticulous attention to detail and a highly organised approach.

4. Excellent communication skills including face-to-face communication, telephone skills and written communication.

5. Ability to demonstrate a flexible approach to work and the ability to work independently or as part of a wider team.

Additional information

For information during the academic year we had 200 hours of work split between three Student Money Assistants.  This work will mainly be term-time only and will be on weekdays, apart from University Open Days and Offer Holder days of which there are six Saturdays a year.  Our busiest times tend to be Term 1 and Term 2 but we will still have some work during Term 3.
 
Interviews
5th November Afternoon and will held on campus

Duration 
Training in week 8 (week commencing the 24th November) and then first event is on the 3rd December 2025. The role will continue for the duration of the 2025-26 academic year. If the student continues to be a registered student at the University in the 2026-27 academic year this role could potentially continue.
