Shifts Available:
A mixture of shifts is available from weekday, weekend, and one night shift per month on a Friday night.
 
Full-time ranging from 12 hr shifts
7 am -7 pm split shifts 7pm-10pm and then 4.00pm - 7.00pm
 
Part-time shifts- 09.00am-3.00pm- 16.00pm-10pm
 
Weekends
Saturdays 8.00-3.00 /8.00pm
Sundays 9.00- 14.30 alternate weekends
 
We are looking for a support worker to support our male client who has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and challenging behaviour. The support will mainly be provided to the client in the family home (LE3), with the occasional trips out, such as swimming (with another staff member). You will therefore need access to your own vehicle (Mileage paid).
 
The role of the Support Worker is to provide reliable, calm, and empathetic care that aligns with our clients' established routines and behavioural support strategies. This includes supporting him both practically and emotionally in his daily routines at home and in the community, while working in close partnership with his family, especially his mother, who oversees his care.

Duties and responsibilities

• Assist client with personal care, including morning routines and meal preparation.
• Engage the client in activities such as long walks, swimming, and creative projects
.• Support the client in maintaining a structured and calming environment, avoiding noisy or overwhelming places.
• Collaborate with another staff member during all 2:1 shifts to ensure consistent and reliable support.
• Work with the client to develop his reading skills and participate in other therapeutic activities.
• Driving the client to activities and appointments as and when required.

Skills and experience

• Must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to own vehicle.
• Previous experience in support work or working with individuals with complex behavioural needs is preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with other staff members.
• Commitment to the client's well-being and willingness to engage in his preferred activities (Marvel, DC Comics, Doctor Who).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
 
The job role will require an enhanced DBS Check.

Successful completion of the probation period is required to receive full training.
