Description

Role

We are looking for a Personal Assistant to provide on-site support for a student at the University of Warwick. You will be helping a final year Mathematics student who has Autism and Attention Deficit Disorder.

We are looking for someone to work 10 hours per week, the work spread evenly throughout the week in one hour chunks (a different pattern can be agreed with the student and the employer). You may subcontract to deputies of your choice to ensure continuity on occasions when you are not available in person.

The main duties of the role would be to help IN PERSON with administrative tasks such as organising emails and ensuring they are actioned punctually, checking work deadlines and ensuring the student meets them all, making sure the student attends lectures and catches up on any missed lectures within days of missing them.

The pay for this role is £16 per hour.

Duties and responsibilities

We are looking for someone to ensure the student keeps his work organised, misses nothing, and submits his assignments on time.

This is final year and the student is expected to achieve a 2:1 or 1st class degree. Due to his Executive Function deficit the administration of his work needs to be delegated to a Personal Assistant.

You will also be ensuring the student paces himself and uses opportunities to relax and socialise as far as possible.

You will keep records of every meeting for his parents, and to assist with handover to any other people in the role who you subcontract as your deputies.

Skills and experience
Due to the nature of the role, flexibility is required from any potential candidate.

We are looking for someone who is
  • Well organised
  • Patient and kind (but firm, persistent, and not easily fobbed-off)
  • Reliable
  • A good coach

Location
Warwick University

Additional information
You will be able to start asap and the pay for the role is £16 per hour.
