Noctua is a Liverpool based silversmithing studio, founded by a practising jeweller with a passion for craftsmanship, community, and accessible creative learning. From bespoke jewellery to hands on workshops, Noctua offers a welcoming and professional space for people to make, learn, and connect.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience supporting a working studio. The role will be varied, supporting both creative and operational aspects of running a small arts business. It’s ideal for someone interested in jewellery,craft, creative education, or running a small creative enterprise.
Duties and responsibilities
The Studio Assistant Intern will support the day to day running of Noctua’s jewellery studio. They will gain insight into a range of studio and business activities, from workshop preparation and customer engagement, to managing stock and supportingcontent creation.
- Assisting in preparing for classes and workshops, including setting up tools and materials.
- Helping with studio organisation and upkeep.
- Supporting packaging, dispatch and stock tracking for jewellery orders.
- Welcoming visitors and helping with enquiries during public workshops.
- Assisting with content scheduling or admin tasks, such as class bookings or studio supplies.
- Contributing to behind the scenes tasks involved in running a small creative business.
Skills and experience
This internship is open to students ideally with an interest in craft, design, jewellery, or creative enterprise.
- Reliable and organised – can manage tasks, follow routines, and keep things tidy and well prepared.
- Good communication skills – confident interacting with customers, participants, and colleagues.
- Hands on and practical – enjoys working with their hands, being on their feet, and supporting creative processes.
- Proactive and curious – shows initiative, asks questions, and is willing to learn from doing.
Desirable (but not essential):
- Interest in jewellery, design, or craft making.
- Experience supporting events, classes, or public facing activities.
- Basic familiarity with online tools like Google Docs or Instagram.
Noctua is a supportive and creative working environment, and full induction and training will be given.
