Our current company website is very barebones and doesn’t sell Harker like it needs to. As we approach Harker’s launch in the next few months, the company website will need to transform into a sales website that showcases our product and its benefits to potential clients .

While we do have the in-house talent to work on our company website, we have a more urgent business need for our developers to work on the Harker product itself. A student internship would be perfect for this project as it would ensure that our website could get the attention it deserves, helping to raise our public profile and drive sales .

This is an exciting project for a student to apply their University knowledge and past experience to a real-world business project, particularly one that supports a software solution which aims to tackle one of society’s biggest problems.

Duties and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:

  • Revamping our Harker company website to help us sell our SaaS platform-
  • Working on a self-contained project under guidance from senior developers and the project lead to meet specification-
  • Attending software meetings to give input-
  • Maintaining a high level of organisation to ensure that deadlines are met whilst they work flexibly around other commitments-
  • Presenting work during software meetings.

While we are committed to the development of our staff, due to current business need, we will be unable to provide full training for this role. Hence, we will only be able to consider applicants who have strong experience in web development.

We are also highly interested in receiving applications from demographics which are unrepresented in the technology industry, such as women and disabled people, including any form of intersectionality.

Anticipated Learning Outcomes for the student:
  • Gaining experience working in a software team, applying knowledge from University to a real-world solution-
  • Creating a high-quality software solution to a given specification-
  • Gaining insight into how a start-up operates and how you can use your University skills to tackle society’s biggest problems-
  • Attending software developer meetings, offering your input and presenting your work to others.
