Role
Welcome Week - Student Ambassador
Duties and responsibilities
- To provide a welcoming and friendly point of contact for new students throughout the Welcome/Freshers period.
- To offer information, guidance, and support to help new students settle into university life.
- To lead campus tours, confidently highlighting key facilities, locations, and services.
- To deliver excellent customer service by answering queries and ensuring students feel supported.
- To assist with event activities, directions, and general student engagement during the welcome period.
- Reporting to the Team Leader/Student Communities Officer at the start and end of each shift to record working hours and breaks.
- To work collaboratively with fellow Ambassadors and staff to ensure the smooth running of Welcome/Freshers activities.
- To be willing to be flexible and provide support with other Ambassador duties as and when required.
Skills and experience
-
Previous experience as a Student Ambassador or providing campus tours (preferable but not essential).

Good understanding of Student Ambassador responsibilities.

Strong knowledge of the University campus, key locations, and essential student services.

Confident and clear communicator, comfortable engaging with groups and individuals.

Outgoing, approachable, and enthusiastic about supporting new students.

Passionate about representing City St George’s University.

Reliable, punctual, and able to demonstrate good time management.

Friendly, positive attitude with a willingness to support wherever needed.
