Role
Teaching Assistants will undertake marking of assessments under the guidance of the Module Convenor.
Duties and responsibilities

GY2420 Climate Change – 2 roles for up to 8 hours each. Module convenor is Mark Williams.
GY3411 Contemporary Environmental Challenges (field visit). 1 role for 6 hours for Hockerton visit on Thursday 13th November 2025. Module convenor is Caroline Upton.
GY3417 Critical, symbolic and emotional rural geographies (field visit). 1 role for 8 hours for Leicestershire visit on Wednesday 8th October 2025. Module convenor is Martin Phillips
Skills and experience
Applicants should be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline, with practical experience of applying appropriate skills and techniques. You will need the ability to analyse both experimental and theoretical work and to communicate scientific concepts clearly and effectively. Strong analytical and communication skills, alongside the ability to work independently and use initiative, are essential. Proficiency in English is required in order to undertake administrative duties and communicate effectively with staff and students. You will also be expected to demonstrate behaviours that reflect the University’s values of inclusivity, inspiration and impact. It would be advantageous if you are working towards a PhD or MPhil, and if you have prior experience of marking undergraduate or postgraduate assessments.
