This role is for 21 hours over 7 days a week (Working days 3 over 7 days) where required across the service. Shifts are as required as per the requirements of the Sports Centre Operational Times, including early, late and weekend shifts.

Role
The University of Leicester is seeking friendly, efficient, and proactive Sports Centre Receptionists to join our Sport & Active Life team until the 31st December 2025, with the potential for further extensions.
As the first point of contact for members and visitors, the Front of House plays a vital role in ensuring a high-quality experience and smooth operation of our facilities. The successful candidate will bring exceptional communication skills, a passion for sport, and a dedication to outstanding customer service, supporting our commitment to a welcoming, Inclusive and active environment.
Duties and responsibilities
You will provide a high-quality reception service, dealing with enquiries, managing bookings, and processing memberships and payments. The role also involves contributing to the safe and efficient running of our facilities, including daily health and safety checks, reporting faults, and supporting opening and closing procedures. You will carry out a range of administrative tasks and ensure that excellent customer service is delivered at all times.
Skills and experience
We are seeking candidates with a minimum of five GCSEs at grade A–C (or equivalent) and experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in sport or leisure. Strong IT skills and knowledge of health and safety procedures are required, alongside excellent communication, organisational skills, and the ability to work flexibly as part of a team. The role involves shift work, including evenings and weekends.

Danielle Brown Sports Centre or Roger Bettles Sports Centre, University of Leicester (Potential for cross-site working, but a base site will be allocated to you if successful)
