Role
The University of Edinburgh is currently offering a part-time opportunity for a student to join the Online Learning Marketing Team as a Digital Marketing Intern. The Online Learning Marketing Team executes campaigns to promote the University’s portfolio of over 70 online postgraduate degrees and over 100 short online courses. Within this role, you will support student recruitment to these courses and degrees, by contributing to planning and implementing the team’s social media presence, email marketing, websites, and paid advertising.
This Internship is an exciting opportunity for you to gain experience in various digital marketing modes, including developing and implementing a social media marketing campaign.
You can expect to start work on the 27th October 2025 and work until the 31st August 2026, whilst working 7 hours per week. You will work in a hybrid pattern split between working from home and in the office in Argyle House (Edinburgh). During this position, you will be paid £16.21 per hour, plus £2.93 per hour holiday pay. Payment is one month in arrears, meaning your first payment date (should this position start when expected) will be 28th November 2025.
Duties and responsibilities
Skills and experience
Essential criteria:
- A current University of Edinburgh student (this post is designated for UoE student employment; therefore, you must be a matriculated student for the duration of your employment). You also must not hold the position of ‘Resident Assistant’;
- Based in the UK for the duration of the work, able to work on campus when required (we cannot accommodate individuals working overseas due to tax and legal implications), and able to attend a Right to Work Check in person if needed;
- Evidence of excellent content writing and editorial skills;
- Proven experience using social media to promote brands/organisations/societies etc, or a demonstrable understanding of how social media can be used for promoting organisations;
- Prior experience with video editing, such as creating TikToks/Instagram Reels;
- Evidence of graphic design skills;
- A proven ability to work independently and prioritise workloads, whilst maintaining a strong attention to detail.
- A proven knowledge and understanding of education marketing;
- A well designed and effective profile on LinkedIn.
