Duties and responsibilities

Guest Service & Hospitality

  • Welcome and greet guests upon arrival, assisting with seating arrangements and venue orientation
  • Provide information about welcome drinks, menu options, and event details
  • Take and process beverage and food orders accurately and efficiently
  • Serve food and beverages to guests at their tables with professional presentation
  • Monitor guest needs throughout the event, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any requests
  • Maintain regular communication with guests to anticipate additional service requirements

Event Setup & Table Management

  • Prepare dining areas by setting tables with appropriate linens, cutlery, crockery, and glassware according to event specifications
  • Arrange buffet stations following detailed setup instructions and presentation standards
  • Ensure all serving dishes are properly replenished before depletion to maintain seamless service
  • Monitor and maintain condiment stations, napkin dispensers, and other guest amenities
  • Keep water glasses filled and ensure adequate supplies are available at all stations

Event Breakdown & Maintenance

  • Efficiently clear and reset tables during service transitions
  • Dismantle buffet setups and transport all equipment, dishes, and utensils back to kitchen areas
  • Complete thorough cleaning and sanitization tasks at event conclusion
  • Ensure all areas meet hygiene and safety standards before departure

Inventory & Support Functions

  • Monitor and manage supplies including condiments, napkins, tableware, and service equipment
  • Report inventory needs and assists with restocking as required
  • Provide assistance to kitchen staff when needed and as directed
  • Support team coordination to ensure smooth event flow and exceptional service delivery

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments
  • Attention to detail in table presentation, food service, and venue maintenance
  • Flexibility for varied scheduling including evenings, weekends, and different venues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality, catering, or customer service (desirable but not essential)
  • Valid driving license and access to reliable transport (highly advantageous)
  • Food safety awareness or willingness to complete training
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies as required

Location
Venues are different every event – across the whole of UK.

Additional information

Start Date: ASAP
Length of Assignment: 3-month trial period, then ongoing work throughout the year.
Shifts and Times: As and when. Corporate events are mainly weekdays, some evening & weekend events also.
Pay Rate: £13.50
Working location: Venues are different every event – across the whole of UK.
Dress Code: Uniform different for events, branded aprons supplied if needed for event. Most events are smart dress – Black & white uniform, black shoes.
