We are seeking International Student Ambassadors to join our existing International Marketing team. Our ambassadors assist at various events and support a range of marketing tasks, providing an authentic representation of the University from a student perspective. This perspective is highly valued by prospective students, as well as their parents and families.

Job Purpose

To be an ambassador for Middlesex University and a role model for prospective students at Middlesex University.

Duties and responsibilities

Your tasks as an International Student Ambassador will be diverse and may include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing a written profile of your student experience
  • Participating in promotional videos and photoshoots
  • Managing and taking over social media accounts on various platforms
  • Participating in focus groups for marketing purposes
  • Being a member of an International student panel
  • Attending webinar sessions for international students
  • Representing Middlesex at recruitment events, including virtual open days and campus tours

Skills and experience

Education

Essential

  • Current Middlesex undergraduate or postgraduate EU or international student.

Experience and knowledge 

Essential

  • Experience of working as part of a team; whether through paid work, volunteering, sports, societies or similar.
  • Knowledge of the various processes involved in becoming an International student in the UK, including how to apply and arriving in the UK.

Desirable 

  • Previous experience of representing a high school, college or department at external events. 
  • General knowledge of Middlesex University and involvement in student life on campus or in the city.

Interpersonal skills and qualities

Essential

  • Responsible, reliable and a good timekeeper.
  • Diplomatic, confident, friendly, approachable and enthusiastic.
  • Have the ability to take the initiative and be proactive about tasks.
  • Interact well and enjoy working with a wide range of audiences including students, teachers, parents and careers advisers. 
  • Comfortable discussing all aspects of student life with members of the public clearly and confidently.

Other

Essential

  • A good level of spoken and written English.
  • Cultural understanding.
  • Ability to manage your University workload with a part-time job.

Hendon Campus

Benefits

Your hours will be flexible in nature and will be allocated on a mutually acceptable basis. Events can take place on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and during both University term time and breaks.

Training

Successful ambassadors will be required to attend a training day provided by the International Marketing team. The training will take place on Thursday, 6th November from 1pm-4pm.
