Role
The School of Arts Media & Creative Technology are looking for Graduates or current students who are studying above Level 6 from programmes BA Photography, BA FIMS(fashion image making stylist), MA socially engaging photography or any other related field are encouraged to apply.
Working Pattern: Thursday 8.30am - 4.30pm

Duties and responsibilities
- To work flexibly as a member of a team in supporting the school, its staff, and students.
- To support students practically by guiding the technical usage of equipment and facilities in completion of their ideas/concepts. Helping them in the use of relevant facilities and enabling them to acquire and apply technical skills in support of their studies.
- To liaise with academic and other technical staff regarding technical support for modules, student projects, shows and exhibitions and assisting demonstrating staff in organising the necessary resources in the support of them.
- To supervise students’ use of photographic and darkroom facilities (including during open access periods) and, in liaison with the appropriate staff, to develop good standards of practice with regard to Health and Safety directives and assisting in the delivery of induction programmes.
- To maintain and control materials and equipment flow (including overseeing and administering any appropriate loan systems).
- To take responsibility for the maintenance, safety and security of facility resources ensuring they are maintained and in good operational order in compliance with Health & Safety regulations, completing Risk Assessment where required.
- To undertake inspections and maintenance in line with the schedule compiled by the Technical Manager and to maintain records of training, inspections and maintenance to meet health and safety regulations and guidelines.
- To contribute to wider School needs in support of printing needs, shows/exhibitions.
- To engage with team and individual development opportunities, including PDRs and demonstrate a willingness to adapt, develop new skills etc.
- Work as a member of the wider School Operations Team to develop and enhance the overall Technical Team as a School wide resource.
- Perform any other duties appropriate to the grade as may be required by the School Operations Manager/College Registrar/Head of School/Technical Manager etc.
- Bring to the attention of managers any matters relating to the health and safety of staff, students and visitors.
- Promote equality and diversity for students and staff and sustain an inclusive and supportive study and work environment in accordance with University policy.
Skills and experience
Level 6 and above minimum.
Experience working in a dark room
Demonstrate how to use DSLR cameras and Film cameras (Analog)
Supervise photography studios including lighting.
