Role
Are you a current University of Nottingham undergraduate (or a postgrad who studied here as an undergrad)? Want to be part of an exciting team that helps prospective students feel welcome on campus?

 
We’re looking for enthusiastic students to support our Open Days by guiding visitors, sharing insights about student life, and ensuring the day runs smoothly. This is a great opportunity to gain experience, develop communication skills, and represent UoN in a friendly and engaging way!
 
Who can apply?
  • Current undergraduate students (or postgraduates who were UoN undergrads)
  • Not already a Student Ambassador or Subject Ambassador

Shift Date: 13th September and 11th October 2025

Working Hours: Between 8am – 5pm (to be arranged directly with the manager)

Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour plus holiday pay

Holiday Pay Rate: £1.47 per hour

Location: University Park, Jubilee Campus, Sutton Bonington, Kings Meadow Campus, Derby Royal Hospital

Dress Code: Smart Casual

Duties and responsibilities

  • Representing your course of study, giving in depth knowledge of your current modules and experience, engaging with visitors, and sharing knowledge about the university, accommodation, sport, societies, SU and other facilities at the campuses
  • Providing further information about student life
  • Assisting with setting up and packing down venues for in person events, providing appropriate advice and directions in relation to the location of schools, rooms and buildings across campuses and delivering tours of campuses and departments
  • Complying with university policies and legal requirements to ensure that all information provided is fully accurate
  • Maintaining safety and wellbeing of visitors by adhering to university policies and procedures
  • Please be aware this role is only open to current undergraduate students at the University of Nottingham

Skills and experience

  • Must be a current or former University of Nottingham undergraduate student
  • Strong knowledge of the university, campuses, and courses
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Familiarity with University Park campus for directing visitors
  • Enthusiastic, helpful, and approachable attitude
  • Previous experience in recruitment events is desirable but not essential

  • Natural Sciences (FGC0)
  • Physics and Philosophy (FV35)
  • Any courses within the School of Health Sciences (please contact Abigail MacDonald - mszam14@exmail.nottingham.ac.uk)
  • Any courses within the School of Physics and Astronomy
  • Any course with American and Canadian Studies (T704, 770F,T700,QT37,TV71,TW76,TL72)
