About the role:

This is a 12-week paid internship opportunity with Eric Lyons, as part of the Made Smarter collaboration with the WMG Internship Programme.

We are seeking a driven and analytical intern to help formalise operational processes and develop data-driven tools to support smarter decision-making across the business. This role will work closely with kitchen and butchery teams, as well as the wider production and logistics functions, to establish clear SOPs and create business intelligence dashboards that improve planning, efficiency, and responsiveness.

As part of the programme, you will benefit from weekly supervision and support by a Made Smarter expert, ensuring you have guidance and resources throughout your internship.

Through this Internship you will have the chance to:

  • Gain hands-on skills in business administration and data management.
  • Enhance organisational, data analysis, and project coordination skills.

Duties and responsibilities

Main activities will include:

  •  Audit existing customer communication channels including CRM software, telephone system, website, and chatbot.
  • Analyse the effectiveness of our current checkout process and suggest improvements to enhance customer experience.
  • Support the evaluation and implementation of off-the-shelf AI chatbot tools including helping define educational inputs and conversational flows.
  • Evaluate and suggest improvements to our automated email responses using tools such as Microsoft Copilot or Google Gemini.
  • Collaborate with the team to streamline responses and create a more consistent brand tone across platforms.
  • Deliver a summary report with actionable recommendations at the end of the placement.

Skills and experience

ESSENTIAL:

  • Educated to degree level
  • Interest in customer communications, digital marketing, or user experience.
  • Comfortable using or learning CRM tools, chatbots, and AI-powered systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work collaboratively.
