THE ROLE

On behalf of our Client, we are seeking to recruit 4x motivated, reliable and enthusiastic individuals to work at the De Montfort Student Unions Welcome Festival on Monday 22nd September 2025.

In this exciting role you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and playing a key part in the success of the event at the DSU. 

The working hours: 9:00am - 17:00pm with a 30 minute break. 

THE DSU:

De Montfort Students' Union (DSU) is an independent, student-run and student-led organisation. They are here to represent your academic interests, involve and inspire students to make the most of their time at De Montfort University (DMU).

Every single student that enrols at DMU automatically becomes a member of DSU; and that means they have access to all of the wonderful services, facilities and activities that they offer.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Greet and guide students and visitors around the fair
  • Provide clear and accurate information about event locations and activities
  • Use radios to communicate with event staff and other marshals
  • Monitor foot traffic, manage queues, and assist with crowd control
  • Support building evacuation procedures in case of an emergency
  • Report incidents or concerns promptly to the event coordination team
  • Assist with event set-up and pack-down as required

Skills and experience

  • Friendly, approachable, and professional manner
  • Strong communication and situational awareness
  • Comfortable using two-way radios for real-time coordination
  • Calm under pressure and able to respond to emergencies
  • Punctual, reliable, and able to follow instructions
