Role
Note takers will be needed for a 3 month period between the dates above, depending on when a student's teaching begins. The length of the assignment will only be for 3 months max each time. There is no guarantee of work. Work will depend on availability of note taker, and the needs of our students.
Variable Hours- between 6 and 15 depending on the needs of the course
** Interviews to be held last week of August
Duties and responsibilities
- To take notes in lectures/tutorials/labs for students in receipt of note taking as a reasonable adjustment.
- To provide notes in a timely way, ideally at the end of the class or immediately afterwards.
- To maintain professional boundaries at all times.
Skills and experience
- Experience of note taking in an HE setting
- Excellent notetaking skills
- Experience of supporting disabled students in a similar or adjacent role
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent time-keeping and organisational skills
- A willingness to learn
- An understanding of the challenges faced by disabled students in higher education
- The ability to act with tact and discretion
- The ability to take direction
Additional Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree minimum
- Note taking qualification desirable but not essential
