Description

Role
This Student Ambassador role will represent and support the engagement and activity carried out by the GRID (Business and Enterprise directorate).

 
This role is for students from the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences and the School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society only. Please only apply if you are in one of these schools.

Duties and responsibilities

o Promote GRID enterprise services within these schools.
o Engage with students and faculty to raise awareness of available resources.
o Organize and participate in outreach events.
o Provide feedback on outreach effectiveness.
o Represent GRID and communicate effectively with fellow ambassadors.
o Report weekly to the Enterprise Executive.

Skills and experience
Experience:

o Involvement in student organizations, public speaking, and teamwork.
o Previous volunteer or part-time roles demonstrating relevant skills.
 
Training:
o Participation in relevant university workshops or training programs.
o Willingness to undergo additional role-specific training.
 
Qualifications:
o Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program.
o Strong academic performance.
o Understanding of Heriot-Watt University’s schools and subject areas.
 
Skills:
o Strong communication skills. 
o Self-motivated, proactive approach.
 
Authorization:
o Must have legal authorization to work part-time (e.g., student visa compliance).
