Description
Role
To act as a body model on a clinical ultrasound course. The course enables trained healthcare professionals (e.g. doctors) to perform ultrasound examination of the chest, abdomen and legs of a living person. Ultrasound is a safe and painless examination that allows visualisation of structures within the living body. This role is suitable for males and females.
The ultrasound examination requires exposure of the chest, abdomen, leg and groin (top of the leg). In the afternoon session, the body model will have their legs fully exposed to allow blood vessels at the top of the leg (groin region) to be examined. The pictures below show some of the areas that will be examined (shaded areas) in the morning and afternoon sessions.
NOTE: Body models signing up for the morning session will have their chest and abdomen examined. Body models signing up for the whole day will have their chest and abdomen examined in the morning and the top of the leg (groin) examined in the afternoon.
*Please note your working day will be 09:45-16:30 - x8 students are required from 09:45-13:30 and x4 for the whole day (09:45-16:30) There will be a 45 minute break throughout the day and 1 hour 30 minute lunch break in the afternoon (13:30-15:00)*
