Description

Role
The Technical Sales Consultant will be responsible for supporting the Sales Team in the development and acquisition of customer accounts through developing and selling multiple products/services from customer requirements and existing ideas, throughout the Broader Public Sector and Defence markets. The focus will be on Government Security Classifications up to Top Secret.

 
Working days and hours are Monday - Friday, 36 hours a week.Monday - Thursday, 9am - 5:30pm
Friday - 9am - 4pm
 
This position is office based (Stoke on Trent) for 5 days a week. There may be some flexibility for remote work after the probation period but this is dependant on each individual role. 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Identifying and conceptualising the scope of service in accordance with customer requirements
  • Identifying and qualifying service opportunities to ensure that they fall within the deliverable capabilities of the Company.
  • Managing and assisting in the delivery of customer demonstrations of products and services
  • Closely coordinating with product development and service resources to align product/service design with customers’ business requirements
  • Translating technical capabilities of a products or services into end user/customer business benefits for use in collateral and sales activities
  • Ensuring that all new services and concept documentation are successfully handed over to the Operations teams to ensure a smooth transition of service
  • Understanding the customer’s future requirements, identifying and filling product gaps and generating new ideas that will grow market share, improve customer experience and drive quick and profitable growth
  • There will be a requirement to maintain a good working knowledge of the various technologies employed to deliver the services, ensuring the Company can benefit from its relationships with leading Industry partners
  • Initiate, build, develop and maintain relationship with technology products
  • Provide technical training to the Sales and Marketing teams
  • Assist with content for Marketing collateral

Skills and experience

  • A-Level educated or equivalent
  • Experience working as a Technical Sales Consultant or equivalent in a managed services environment
  • A record of achievement and technical solution expertise in a comparable sales role
  • Product certification, engineering credential, or equivalent technical credential
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in cloud computing environments, enterprise mobility services, information security and providing managed services to Public Sector organisations
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of outsourcing contracts, contract schedules, managed service commercial principles
  • Experience and awareness of a variety of data driven technology stacks including Docker, Kubernetes and Kafk
  • Experience with data structures including both SQL and Non SQL such as Elastic and Mongo
  • Experience with programming language (Python, C#)
  • Strong problem solving skills and willingness to be ‘hands on’ to get the job done
  • Initiative and pro-activity, matched by an ability to be a strong member of a team
  • Ability to interact with key stakeholders at all levels
