Role
This internship provides an opportunity for students to gain practical experience in the end-to-end production of vodcast and podcast content for the UCB Business School’s Enterprise Hub. Interns will be involved in all aspects of the content creation process, including planning, guest management, technical setup, hosting, editing, and publication. The role is designed to develop professional skills in media production, communication, and digital storytelling.
Duties and responsibilities
Content Planning & Guest Management
· Identify and select relevant subject areas aligned with UCB’s themes, values, and audience interests.
· Research and shortlist potential guest speakers with relevant expertise.
· Extend formal invitations to guests, provide event details, and confirm participation (including sharing UCB Publicity Guidelines for Visitors).
· Manage logistics including scheduling, calendar invites, and reminders.
· Draft and finalise a structured list of discussion questions and share with guests in advance for approval.
Pre-Production & Studio Preparation
· Coordinate with the Studio Technician/Head to book the recording studio in advance.
· Confirm availability and functionality of technical resources (microphones, cameras, lighting, recording software).
· Conduct preliminary research on the guest to ensure a well-informed discussion.
· Arrange a warm-up session to build rapport with the guest.
· Ensure all media consent forms are signed prior to recording.
Recording & Interview Execution
· Host and conduct the vodcast/podcast interview in a professional, respectful, and engaging manner.
· Ensure the studio is properly set up and all equipment is tested prior to recording.
· Monitor the recording process in real time, adjusting audio and visual settings as required.
· Address any unforeseen issues during recording while maintaining professionalism.
Post-Production & Editing
· Review raw footage and edit content to ensure clarity, engagement, and high production quality.
· Generate short teaser edits (30–60 seconds) highlighting key moments.
· Add captions, transitions, graphics, and branding elements as appropriate.
· Export and upload final versions to the designated OneDrive folder for internal review and guest approval.
Publication & Distribution
· Share teaser and full edits with the guest for approval and incorporate any feedback.
· Once approved, publish content to LinkedIn, tagging the Business School page and the guest.
· Ensure all content meets UCB’s corporate media guidelines prior to wider distribution.
· Coordinate with UCB Marketing for potential reposting or repackaging of content.
Skills and experience
You must be able to demonstrate a passion and enthusiasm for media production and digital storytelling. You are someone exploring podcasting as a possible career.
· You should have at least some prior experience of recording and editing podcasts/vodcasts/vlogging.
· You must be able to demonstrate an approachable personality capable of connecting with people of diverse cultures and professional interests.
· You must be able to demonstrate excellent interview techniques, putting the participant at their ease and building a strong rapport.
· You must be able to demonstrate practical experience or willingness to learn quickly the use of podcasting and the specialist audio and video equipment required to publish a professional podcast.
· You should be able to demonstrate willingness to learn operating professional podcasting equipment/software in the past.
· You must be able to demonstrate experience with operating video and audio editing software to generate high quality videos, podcasts or vodcasts.
· You must be able to demonstrate experience of publishing podcast content on social media platforms, and especially LinkedIn.
· You must demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills.
· You must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
· Experience with Microsoft Teams and OneDrive is a plus.
