Description

Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst with a strong background in data wrangling to join our curriculum data team. The successful candidate will play a key role in transforming complex and fragmented curriculum-related data such as module specifications, delivery patterns, assessments, and course structures, into accurate, consistent, and usable formats. This work will directly support academic planning, quality assurance, and evidence-based decision-making across the institution and, critically, will support us to implement and go live with a new Curriculum Management System in 2026.

The ideal candidate will have the skills and mindset needed to work proactively and manage multiple tasks at pace. Strong problem-solving abilities, the capacity to manage large volumes of information, and excellent skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders across the University are essential.

Applicants should provide a covering letter using the Skills and Experience criteria below as headings to demonstrate relevant evidence and experience.

  3. Utilise data wrangling tools to prepare data for analytics and reporting.
  4. Collaborate with analysts, data scientists and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
  5. Validate data integrity and troubleshoot data quality issues.
  6. Create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation of data pipelines, including transformation logic, data definitions, and dependencies, to support ongoing maintenance.
  7. Work with large datasets and disparate data sources (e.g., APIs, databases, flat files, text files, unstructured data etc).

Skills and experience

Essential

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field.

  6. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  1. Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker.
