The working hours of the role will be anytime between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, with the occasional evening/weekend shift for student events. The successful candidates will be required to work an average of 3 hours per week

Role
Student Engagement Assistants will work closely with our team of Student Engagement Officers that are allocated within each of the courses above. The purpose of the role will be to draw from your own experience as a student to devise initiatives with the Student Engagement team to support the student experience – with a particular focus on equality, diversity and inclusion.

Duties and responsibilities
•    On campus advice mentoring drop-in pop-up stand 

•    Supporting the Student Engagement Team’s duties (workshops, events, inductions etc.)
•    Group Workshop Sessions - with the potential to provide more in-depth skills development to students 

Skills and experience

The Student Engagement team at UCB are looking to appoint current UCB Higher Education (HE) students. The candidate must be Level 5 or 6/7. We will be looking for candidates who demonstrate the following key skills in their application;

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Highly motivated, proactive and well organised

- An understanding of the student experience and the issues students face

- Effective team working skills

- The ability to confidently engage with students across various methods.

The role would ideally suit dedicated and reliable students with experience of working with others in a supportive role, who possess strong communication and relationship-building skills.  

This role is ideal for HE students who wish to develop their skill set to achieve the skills that contribute towards Graduate attributes;
