THE ROLE
On behalf of our Leicester Client, we are seeking to recruit 4x dedicated Membership Service Assistants to join their Membership Service team. These roles offer flexible part-time positions, ideal for individuals looking to balance work with other commitments.
In this role, you will assist these teams and contribute to the overall efficiency of the department by handling a range of administrative tasks and supporting collaborative initiatives. You will be required to work under the direction of a Membership Services Manager to provide general administrative duties, support outreach work, and triage student queries to assist in the efficient running of the Membership Services department.
Working Hours: 10 hours per week Monday to Friday, between 10:00 AM and 3:30 PM and the role is term time only.

Duties and responsibilities
- Provide professional customer service to all students, staff and visitors of De Montfort Students’ Union.
- Provide a front-of-house and/or inbox triage service for students with general queries for the Membership Services department.
- Support activity booking requests from DSU’s student volunteers
- Support events run by the department, such as; Give It A Go events, Student Council and Wellbeing Wednesdays, or outreach activities and events.
- Support Membership Services department with outreach activities to student members.
- Signpost students to relevant points of assistance via telephone, email or in person.
- Maintain electronic student data, ensuring this complies with GDPR.
- Create and maintain documents, spreadsheets and databases, using Microsoft packages.
- Support key Union events including but not limited to Welcome Weeks and Elections
Skills and experience
EXPERIENCE
Experience of providing excellent customer service
Experience of handling and completing administrative tasks.
Experience of dealing sensitively with individuals, demonstrating empathy at all times
Experience and understanding of client confidentiality and data protection requirements
SKILLS
Ability to work under own initiative as well as part of a team
Ability to communicate using a variety of methods e.g. face to face, telephone, email
Good IT skills including experience of developing and using MS Office and its applications in the use of developing spreadsheets/presentations/word documents
Ability to remain calm under pressure
GENERAL
Ability to be adaptable and flexible
Awareness and respect of the cultural differences of individuals

Please note that candidates must be available to interview on Monday 1st September 2025 and to start training all day on Tuesday 9th September 2025.
The shortlisted candidates must be a current DMU student for the 2025/2026 academic year.
