Role
To support the delivery of WMG’s marketing and communications activities for the Education portfolio by assisting with the implementation of marketing campaigns and initiatives that drive awareness and engagement in line with team objectives. This is a varied role that spans different areas of the Education portfolio and covers a range of responsibilities, from website and social media to events, content creation, administrative tasks, and supporting with campaigns.

- Assist with the delivery of marketing and communication activities that support the objectives of WMG’s Education portfolio. Work with the marketing team to understand target audiences and help deliver activities aligned to specific goals.
- Support the implementation of integrated marketing campaigns across appropriate channels, including paid advertising. Responsibilities include coordinating content delivery, gathering assets, preparing briefs and booking forms, liaising with suppliers or agencies under supervision, and ensuring campaign activities are tracked and reported on.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for events and exhibitions, including booking rooms, preparing materials, attendee communications, and pre-event and on-the-day coordination, as well as post-event tasks such as packing down and gathering feedback. Assist with recruitment of student ambassadors and liaise with internal stakeholders as directed.
- Help to create social media content and campaigns by drafting posts, sourcing content (e.g., photos, short videos), and scheduling activity. Under guidance, assist with identifying trends and engagement opportunities.
- Support the creation and distribution of marketing materials (e.g., flyers, posters, brochures) by coordinating copy and imagery, liaising with design and print suppliers, and ensuring materials are on brand and Competition and Marketing Authority (CMA) compliant, under supervision.
- Assist in coordinating photography and videography requirements, including booking shoots, drafting briefs, and reviewing outputs to ensure alignment with brand and campaign goals. Provide on-the-day support to ensure shoots runs smoothly and that all necessary image/videography consent are obtained.
- Collaborate with teams across WMG, including business development and student recruitment, by providing administrative and operational marketing support aligned with campaign activity.
- Contribute to maintaining and updating website content, including writing and editing copy, uploading images, checking accessibility, and monitoring performance with basic analytics tools.
- Contribute to the development of case studies and success stories, writing copy, liaising with stakeholders to gather information and ensuring alignment with WMG press and communications strategies.
- Assist in sharing internal and external news stories, drafting content for internal newsletters and external stories or social media posts and liaising with colleagues to ensure timely and relevant communication.
- Assist with reporting on marketing metrics using tools such as Google Analytics or social media insights, under supervision. Support with gathering data to evaluate campaigns and recommend improvements.
- Support market research activities such as conducting desk research, helping to design and distribute surveys, and assisting with the organisation of focus groups or other market research tasks.
- Provide general administrative support to the Education Marketing Team, including tasks such as collating monthly updates for reporting to the Executive Team, maintaining team files and folders, and ensuring the Marketing ‘One Plan’ is kept up to date and accurate. Support the smooth running of team operations by assisting with meeting coordination, note taking, and document preparation as required.
- Support continuous improvement of marketing practice by contributing ideas, keeping up with emerging marketing trends, and sharing findings with the team for potential application at WMG.Top of FormBottom of Form
Skills and experience
Essential
- Some experience in a marketing or communications role and a strong interest in developing a career in marketing (E)
- Experience supporting the creation and editing of content for various channels such as websites, social media, brochures, and internal communications (E)
- Experience assisting with the coordination or delivery of events, including administrative support, logistics, and on-the-day involvement (E)
- Understanding of integrated marketing campaigns and experience contributing to their delivery as part of a wider team (E)
- Experience working with or coordinating inputs from external suppliers or agencies, such as printers, designers, or event organisers (E)
- Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with different audiences, helping to adapt messaging and content as needed to support marketing activities (E)
- Basic understanding of marketing and communication strategies, with experience contributing to plans and supporting activity tracking and reporting against key objectives (E)
- Awareness and some hands-on experience of digital marketing, such as scheduling social media posts, helping to produce digital assets such as short videos, or contributing to campaign content (E)
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines (E)
- Good interpersonal and teamworking skills, with the ability to work effectively and professionally with colleagues at all levels, as well as external partners and suppliers and able to work independently and as part of a team (E)
Desirable
- Experience or familiarity with Higher Education would be an advantage (D)
- Experience creating and editing video content for use across digital platforms including social media, websites and, marketing campaigns (D)
- Familiarity with website content management systems (although training will be provided), with some experience of editing web pages and an awareness of SEO principles (D)
Location
Hybrid working – 3 days per week on campus.
