Description
Role
Unitemps are recruiting for a Operations Co-ordinator within the UCL Institute of Archaeology. The role is to work ASAP and will run until 5th September 2025, part time at 20 hours per week . Payment is set at £29.33+ holiday pay per hour and the role will be HYBRID based.
Duties and responsibilities
Emergencies, risk and logistics: first point of contact for all staff and students off-site who are conducting fieldwork, especially for emergencies e.g.
- Illness
- Evacuations
- Logistics queries
- Insurance queries
- Risk assessments
- Health and safety issues
- Acting as a conduit for issues and queries while staff are off-site
- Monitoring IoA Director’s inbox and triaging enquiries appropriately
- Managing the diary and responding to meeting invitations
- Keeping in touch with IoA Director while he is in the field to make sure urgent and important matters are being appropriately dealt with.
Skills and experience
Essential:
- Knowledge of university workings and systems (UCL if possible)
- A range of practical administrative skills, including managing and responding to correspondence from affiliate academics and visitors (hosting letters)
- Experience of and ease with trouble-shooting, working with suppliers, airlines and other transportation organisations, etc.
- Experience of working with academic staff and students, responding to enquiries, problem-solving, etc.
- Some experience of liaising with insurance companies/agents
- Some experience of media monitoring, website CMS and social media content creation
- Some experience of general office management, including the Director’s diary management
Desirable:
- Knowledge of archaeology fieldwork administration
- Some knowledge of HR processes and policies
