Role
Student Course Ambassador (Undergraduate) – Join Our Unibuddy Team
Love your course? Want to inspire others to choose Middlesex? We’re looking for enthusiastic and friendly undergraduate students to represent Middlesex University and share their student experience with prospective applicants online and at events.
As a Course Ambassador, you'll play a key role in helping future students feel informed, welcomed and supported, from first interest to enrolment.
Duties and responsibilities
Be the face of Middlesex to future students
- Chat with prospective students through the Unibuddy platform
- Share honest and helpful insights about your course and student life
- Support telephone campaigns to encourage event attendance and answer student questions
Represent us at key events
- Speak on Q&A panels during Open Days and Experience Days
- Answer questions from students and parents about your course and the uni
- Attend external subject fairs like UCAS events and school/college visits
Create exciting content
- Join in on photo and video shoots for marketing campaigns
- Record short videos or write blog posts about life at MDX
- Help produce social content and testimonials
- Contribute quotes and written insights for use across the web, emails and digital
Learn, grow, and be part of something impactful
- Gain valuable experience in public speaking, digital marketing and peer mentoring
- Receive full training and ongoing support
- Be part of a dynamic student ambassador community
Skills and experience
Essential
- Current Middlesex undergraduate student
- Passionate about your course and student life at Middlesex
- Confident communicator (verbal and written)
- Reliable, self-motivated and able to manage your time
- Comfortable with digital platforms (Unibuddy, email, social)
- Confidently speaking to prospective students by phone or in person
- Willing to appear in video and photography content
Desirable
- Involved in MDXSU, societies, sports or volunteering
- Knowledge of MDX services and facilities
- Comfortable giving guidance about Higher Education
- Interest or experience in digital marketing, blogging, and video editing
- Experience using Unibuddy or supporting outbound recruitment activity
- Friendly, relatable and inclusive – able to share diverse experiences
Location
Given the need for flexibility, the duties and location of this post, as well as the role of the post-holder, may alter. However, the Course Ambassador will be contracted to work at least two hours per week, with room for additional hours to be added
Benefits
Pay Rate: £15 per hour
Training & Key Dates
- Training week: w/c 25 August 2025
- Duties begin w/c 1 September 2025
- You’ll be expected to support key events such as:
- Open Days (on-campus and virtual)
- Open Evenings and Experience Days
- UCAS and external subject fairs
