Description

Role

Unitemps are acting as an Employment Business, supplying temporary workers, in relation to this vacancy.

The Nottingham Students’ Partnership is a joint venture between the University of Nottingham Students’ Union and Nottingham Trent Students’ Union, based around the shared experiences of our students across the City of Nottingham.

The role of Student Community Organiser is perfect for someone currently studying at NTU or UoN who likes to talk to and build relationships with their fellow students. You will be finding out what issues students are passionate about and supporting them raise these further. The role should allow you a degree of freedom, so you will need to be capable of taking the initiative and working independently and as part of a small team.

CLOSING DATE: 08/08/25 Please note that the role may close early to applications – apply as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Duties and responsibilities

Some knowledge of community organising might be beneficial, but full training will be provided.  This bespoke training, carried out in collaboration with Nottingham Citizens, will cover the principles and operation of community organising, and will be supported by staff and resources at both UoNSU and NTSU.

No Community Organiser looks the same, and each person will approach this differently but for this role you’ll most likely:

  • Be able to easily talk to and relate to students, residents and local stakeholders from a range of backgrounds.
  • Be willing to learn about Community Organising.
  • Be able to keep a track of your own work and be self-motivated.

Skills and experience

This role will require working with both NTSU and UoNSU and students at both universities, so flexibility and the ability to adapt will be highly valuable. We encourage students from both Nottingham Trent University and University of Nottingham who would enjoy this opportunity working with a wide range of people across both universities and the wider city to apply.
