Role
The post holder will be responsible for delivering a professional administrative service as a member of the IMR team at the School of Veterinary Medicine.  As the School’s key point of contact for communication with partner practices, this role is critical for maintaining the School of Veterinary Medicine’s partnership network across the programme relating to delivery of teaching. These include animal resources and partnerships for years 1-4 and clinical practices and partnerships for final year intramural rotations (IMR).   

 

This is a temporary role to cover the Veterinary Partnership Manager for 6 weeks.

Work can be completed remotely once trained.

Any veterinary or clinical or scientific knowledge a bonus.

3 days per week - 9-5pm - this is flexible.

£16.90 per hour.

£2.04 per hour holiday pay.

Duties and responsibilities

 
  1. To provide competent administration and management of activities relating to IMR placements; this may include organising visits for training, audits, coordinating practice payments, feedback collation, assisting with delivery of partner engagement activities e.g. organisation of Annual Partner Conference, monthly CPD events, coordination of the quarterly IMR newsletter, attendance at events run by partner practices, organising IMR Operations Group and Animal Resources Working Group meetings and recording the minutes of these. 

  1. To provide competent administration and management of non-IMR animal resources; this may include scheduling and coordination of use of partner facilities for teaching in years 1 – 4, maintaining records of quality assurance checks, procurement and logistics of animal resources for VSC, along with recording, monitoring, reporting and facilitating the cadavers required for teaching. 

  1. Administer the partner contracts working in close liaison with the legal team; this will require liaising with partner organisations and university legal office to produce new and amended Educational Partnership Agreements and keeping comprehensive records of affiliated staff at partner sites (including training records). 

  1. Support quality assurance of partners through; managing the schedule of audits for IMR practices and non-IMR animal teaching facilities, maintaining a register of audit outcomes and action plans for remediation, undertaking audits and preparing reports on audit status for accreditation and other purposes.   

  2. Work closely with the Vet Placements team to manage and maintain a central document of key contacts within the partner network.

Skills and experience
IT skills and good communication to liaise with external partners., written & verbal.

 
Ability to follow quality assurance processes and maintain audit trails.
 
Must be able to work independently/self directed.
 
Desirable:
 
Knowledge of Agresso, sharepoint/university drives would be helpful.
