Role
The University of Surrey are recruiting a temporary Consultancy Officer to report to the Head of Innovation and Impact and will be tasked with managing and administering the successful delivery of our recently refreshed Consultancy programme.

 
The Innovation & Impact team form part of the Research, Innovation, and Impact (RII) division which supports the research, innovation, and impact activity across the University.
 
£19.86 per hour.
£2.40 per hour holiday pay.
Monday-Friday - 9am-5pm.
To start as soon as possible for 3 months.
 
 
 
 

Duties and responsibilities

The postholder will be the main point of contact in the University for matters relating to consultancy. They will ensure the provision of a high-quality service to academic and professional services colleagues and to our external partners. This will involve support to scope and cost consultancy projects, negotiate the price and set-up the contract, raise and chase invoices, collate feedback, create case-studies, provide reports and manage the relationship to support further opportunity development.

Skills and experience

  • Able to communicate effectively with researchers, professional services colleagues and external partners, and provide support, advice and guidance.
  • Experienced in working with businesses to understand their needs and ensure projects are well scoped.
  • Experienced in project management of a complex portfolio of projects, including due diligence checks, financial administration and provision of contractual support.
  • Competence in finance processes, including costing projects, apportionment, negotiating price and raising invoices.
  • High attention to details.
  • Able to support relationship management and identification of further collaboration opportunities.
  • High level of IT skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and competence with databases. Experience in the use of Worktribe and Agresso would be desirable.
