Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Community Activator to become an integral part of our dynamic team at. This position will be based at our recently established facility, The Yard, located in Meir, Stoke-on-Trent. The core focus of this role revolves around engaging the local community, advocating for an active and healthy lifestyle, and empowering young individuals through a range of sports, health and youth-centred initiatives. This opportunity presents an exciting prospect to engage at the grassroots level, where your contributions will have a tangible impact on the lives of young people and the communities we serve.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Design and implement youth-focused programs that use sport, physical activity and health to encourage personal development and leadership.
  • Mentor and guide young participants, fostering their physical, emotional, and social growth.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues, delivery staff and partners to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to community engagement through community sport and youth work.
  • Represent the organisation in community meetings, forums, and public events related to sports and youth development.
  • Collect data on program participation, youth progress, and community engagement activities.
  • Prepare reports on the impact of community sport and youth-focused initiatives.
  • Utilise IN2’s social media accounts to promote our projects, community events, and youth-related initiatives.
  • Create engaging content that highlights the achievements, voices, and stories of youth participants and the impact of the organisation's work.
  • Plan, organise and help deliver our Meir Youth Voice project to amplify youth voice within the community, ensuring their perspectives are heard and valued.
  • Create platforms and initiatives for young people to actively participate in decision-making processes related to community sport, youth work, and community development.
  • Support IN2’s work when required in other areas of the city including our projects delivered at our Hub sites including Guerrilla Training Community Gym in Hartshill, Staffs Lifting Club in Stoke, Meir Education Centre and Oakwood Road Community Centre in Blurton.
