Role
Unitemps are recruiting for a Digital marketing assistant. This role is for a July 8th start date (or soon after) and will be full-time at 36.5 hours per week. Payment is set at £14.64 per hour + holiday pay. This role will be UCL hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days per week from the office and the rest from home.
The UCL Faculty of Life Sciences is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Digital Assistant to support the delivery and maintenance of digital content across our websites, intranet, and digital communications platforms.
This role will sit within the Faculty’s Marketing and Communications team and will play a key part in ensuring our online presence is engaging, accurate, accessible, and aligned with UCL brand guidelines. It’s an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact research and education outreach while building your digital skills in a collaborative university setting.
Duties and responsibilities
- Support updates to Faculty and departmental websites using UCL’s Content Management System (Drupal).
- Support digital projects including new page builds, restructuring site architecture, and internal campaigns.
- Coordinate and upload content, including news articles, events, staff profiles, and research highlights.
- Ensure digital content adheres to accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and is SEO-optimised.
- Assist with the development and scheduling of social media posts and digital newsletters.
- Maintain and update the Faculty’s intranet pages and digital assets.
- Liaise with academic and professional services staff to gather and manage content requirements.
- Monitor web analytics and support reporting on digital performance.
Skills and experience
- Strong digital literacy.
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Clear and professional written communication.
- A proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused mindset.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working with websites or CMS platforms (Drupal, WordPress, etc.)
- Familiarity with basic HTML/CSS.
- Understanding of Google Analytics or other performance monitoring tools.
- Awareness of accessibility and GDPR compliance in digital content.
Location
UCL; hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office
