Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work for our prestigious client who are based in Stafford. 

 
The prime role of the assistant is to provide direct support to his or her principal(s) to enable the principal to operate at optimum efficiency.
 
Working days are Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week. This is currently a temporary position for roughly 1-2 months. The company do not have a car park so you would have to use a public car park or off street parking outside of town.

Duties and responsibilities

  • To prepare correspondence and documents through audio-typing and word-processing.
  • To administer filing which will include daily filing and the opening, closing, administration and handling of client files in accordance with the detailed procedures contained in the Office Procedures Manual.
  • To prepare mail and enclosures for despatch.
  • To carry out any necessary copying.
  • To make appointments, arrange meetings and to maintain an up-to-date electronic diary with appropriate back-up for his or her principal(s). This includes ensuring that all court appointments are promptly entered in the Court Diary.
  • To prepare rooms for meetings as necessary and for the tidying and clearance of the room at the end of the meeting.
  • To provide refreshments when asked to do so.
  • To provide support for other assistants and administration staff as required.
  • To provide guidance to more junior or temporary staff when required to do so.
  • To attend clients both in person and on the telephone to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the firm’s standards for client care.
  • To undertake any specific training when required to do so and overall to have a responsibility for self-development.
  • To ensure confidentiality and security of all company and client documentation and information.

Skills and experience

  • High word processing and audio-typing skills.
  • Preferably previous experience as a legal secretary or experience of working in a professional office.
  • A high standard of interpersonal and communication skills, especially in the context of client care.
