Role
A local Independent school based in Warwick, require an experienced Chef de Partie, to work during school hours.
Duties and responsibilities
You will be working as part of a team to assist with the delivery of healthy and nutritious food, that is appetising to the pupils and within budgetary guidelines.
- To ensure a high standard of food quality.
- 2. To ensure a high quality of food presentation.
- 3. To take a senior chef role at special functions and dinners.
- 4. To ensure that the kitchen is cleaned and maintained to high standards as determined by Food Safety Legislation.
- 5. To ensure that HACCP procedures are being met.
- 6. To ensure that food safety documents are being recorded correctly.
- 7. To assist in correct ordering and stock control.
- 8. To follow the guidance of the Head or Senior Sous Chef and assist them in menu compilation for core dining and functions.
- 9. To provide a healthy balance of menu items and be aware of nutritional needs.
- 10. To notify line manager on health and safety issues.
- 11. To notify line manager on equipment repair and maintenance.
- 12. To secure the department when required.
- 13. To control and recycle wastage
- 14. To work within budgets and menu costings.
- 15. To assist with functions and conferences when required to do so.
- 16. To undertake training as and when required to do so.
Skills and experience
To apply for the role, you will have the following experience
- To have worked in a catering environment where initiative and self- discipline are required
- Understanding of health and safety principles and safe working practices in a catering environment
- Understanding of Nutritional Guidelines in Schools
- Patisserie knowledge
- Excellent culinary skills
- Ability to cook fresh produce to a high standard
In addition if you have a Professional Catering Qualification in at least NVQ level 2 or City and Guilds equivalent it would be an advantage
