Role
Please note:
- The role will be hybrid with some work being undertaken remotely and some on-site. During the main part of the Clearing process on 14th and 15th August candidates will be required to be on site and the hours will be longer (typically 7.30am-6.00pm). As such some flexibility in timings will be required.
- Interviews to be held around W/C 23rd June
Duties and responsibilities
- This role involves assisting the Bayes Business School UG admissions team Clearing operation by responding to prospective Clearing inquiries, assessing Clearing applications, and completing CAS statement sign off's for our international applicants.
- Tasks to include taking incoming calls from Clearing enquirers and making offers/rejects/referrals on these; assessing Clearing web form submissions and making offers/rejects/referrals on these; making outbound calls to Clearing enquirers for more information or to follow up on an offer made; to assist the undergraduate admissions team with other Clearing related tasks. Full on-site training will be given by current permanent staff who will also run a Teams chat in order to support temp staff on a daily basis.
- To be responsible for preparing CAS statements for our international applicants to be used for their student visa applications. Candidates will receive full training on how to prepare these and the CAS statements will be checked by a member of the admissions team before being issued to the student.

Skills and experience
- Suitable for current Business School undergraduate students or alumni, as knowledge of courses very beneficial.
- Previous experience of Clearing or assisting at University events and dealing with prospective applicants (i.e. Open Days, information sessions) would be considered very desirable.
- Candidates should have an excellent telephone manner. Given the fact that some University applicants may be stressed, it will be important to have a level of calm and diplomacy. Candidates should also have a knowledge of Zoom, Teams and the Microsoft suite (Word, Excel). A knowledge of the University system and UCAS application process would be helpful but is not essential.
Location
The role is hybrid but when on site candidates will be based in Drysdale building Northampton Square.
