Description

Role

We are looking for a project officer to support the finalisation and publicity around the “Inclusive Assessment in STEM Disciplines: Perspective from Students and Staff - Warwick and beyond” project (the project) that has taken place over the last two years.

Background. The project at Warwick University has undertaken research internally and across the sector. This research has been formalised into a formal report for the university education executive.

 Aim. To synthesis the comprehensive report into a university hosted web pages that provides a resource for the wider university and external stakeholders.

The report is approximately 200 pages long and comprises both quantitative and qualitative data, subsequent analysis and recommendations.

Outcome. A web page that syntheses the project report into a WIHEA project page (an example page from a smaller project is available here.). This page will contain

  1. Access to the full project report.
  2. A summary of the research conducted.
  3. Recommendations.

The page must

  1. Represent the information in a format suitable for easy engagement with a range of stakeholders (students, internal and external staff both academic and professional services).
  2. Present information at the level of snippet, more details and then a deep dive to permit users to quickly access information and then, should they wish be able to explore ideas at a range of depths.
  3. Be fully accessible and meet all accessibility requirements and good practice.

The appointee will work with and be supported by the project team Sam Grierson (EPQ), Claire Rocks (Computer Science) and Martyn Parker (Statistics).

Duties and responsibilities

(1) Synthesis of the project report into a range of forms suitable for different stakeholders.

(2) Creation of web-page information and ancillary information suitable to ensure the webpage provides the best experience for stakeholders against the project’s remit.

(3) Ensure the accuracy and reliability of the information presented.

(4) Report and provide regular updates, including examples for feedback, to the project team.

Skills and experience

We are looking for candidates who possess the following skills and experience.

Essential:

Demonstrated experience in synthesising information and presented that information in alternative forms suitable for different stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to create accessibility web-pages (and associated content) using a variety of tools.

Attention to detail and commitment to ensuring the accuracy and reliability of information.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and findings clearly and effectively.

Proven ability to work independently and take initiative while also contributing collaboratively to team efforts.

Desirable:

Familiarity with the higher education sector, particularly in the context of inclusive education.

Understanding of inclusive education within universities and knowledge of relevant frameworks and guidelines.

Location
Flexible working. This could be a combination of campus and working from home or working entirely from home with regular Microsoft Teams catch ups.
