Role
University College Birmingham is looking to recruit a Financial Support assistant to join their friendly and enthusiastic team during the enrolment period.The role requires assisting the Financial Support team with promoting and distributing the bursary funding to our FE students. This is an exiting and varied role which will give you the opportunity to gain experience and skills across a wide range of areas including customer service, administrative tasks, and communication.

Duties and responsibilities
The focus of this role is to support the Financial Support team with promoting the financial support offer to our FE students, helping students to apply and processing applications. It will be a varied role giving you the opportunity to engage in a range of activities, but some of the key responsibilities are:

•    Helping students to apply for the FE Bursary Scheme
•    Promoting the financial support offer to students
•    Managing relevant queries by phone and email 
•    Assisting with processing the FE Financial Support applications
•    Keeping accurate and up to date records
•    Maintaining confidentiality at all times

Skills and experience
A member of the Financial Support team will train you in all aspects of the job so no prior experience is required, however candidates with administrative, customer service experience and good IT skills are preferred. The successful candidate will be friendly, approachable, and hardworking and will have a thorough appreciation of maintaining confidentiality. We would love to work with someone who is proactive and confident working under pressure and who can work well both as part of a team but also independently.
